How it works

Renting in the Netherlands is hard. DormSpot handles the hardest part for you.

1The problem

Hundreds of sites, hundreds of new listings a day

Hundreds of new places go up every day, spread across dozens of sites. Checking them all and finding the ones worth your time is a full-time job.

2The problem

300+ applications in the first hour

The competition is brutal. If you are not among the first few to apply to a new listing, landlords will not even consider you for a viewing.

3The fix

DormSpot does the hunting for you

We scan every Dutch student-housing site every minute and alert you the second a match appears. You apply before the crowd, with zero time spent searching.

Get the alert, apply fast. Most of our users find a place within three weeks of searching.

What students say

Found a place. Stopped refreshing.

University of AmsterdamAmsterdam

I used to spend hours every day refreshing Kamernet, Pararius and Facebook groups. DormSpot saved me so much time by only showing relevant listings. I didn't realize how much time the search was taking until I stopped.

I was sending messages on the usual platforms for weeks and barely got anything back. In my first week on DormSpot I had 3 viewings booked. No idea what they're doing differently but it works.

I started looking for a room in Rotterdam thinking it'd take all summer. Signed the contract 14 days later. Still kind of in shock.

I arrived in Amsterdam from Italy with no place to stay. Tried Kamernet, Pararius, Facebook — every other listing was either a scam or already gone. DormSpot was the first thing that actually got me into viewings. I found a room within 3 weeks.

DormSpot has a much better focus for students than other similar services. Their student filtering actually works, and I got notifications from many more student-focused websites.

A note from the founder

When I first moved to the Netherlands, I struggled to get viewings. I spent hours every day refreshing the same housing sites and applying to everything, with no luck.

The issue is timing. New listings on the major sites get 300+ applications on the first day. By the time most people see them, it’s already too late.

I built DormSpot to fix that. The moment a listing matches your criteria, anywhere, you hear about it, saving you hours of searching and making sure you don’t miss anything.

Other services exist, but none are built specifically for students. We cover more student-only housing sites, and our student filtering actually works.

I’m a TU/e student, building this with a small team in Eindhoven. Questions or feedback? The contact page reaches us directly. We’d love to hear from you.
